Spatial Effects Research Of Shanghai Industrial Development Zone Construction And Growth

In the past 20 year, the development zone has become the important carrier for social economy growth in China. The development zone has influenced a lot to the local city's spatial scale, shape as well as spatial growth way, industry spatial infrastructure, population and social structure, which catalyzes the restructuring of the city space and is playing the extremely vital role for the city development.This dissertation takes Shanghai's 71 industrial development zones as the research objects. Firstly, on the basis of review and summary of international and domestic research situation and relative theories, the dissertation analyzes the contents and motivation mechanism of the development zone's spatial effects. Secondly, the dissertation analyzes in details the general situation of Shanghai development zone, the industrial development zone spatial distribution characteristics, the scale and the benefit, in which the emphasis is at the influences of the industrial development zone at the city spatial scale, the shape evolution, the city industrial structure, the population and the society spatial restructure. At last, the dissertation summarizes all kinds of effects, brought by the Shanghai industrial development zones, to the city space. It also respectively provides some suggestions and advices to the issues during the construction and growth of the development zone. This dissertation concludes following points:1. The major Shanghai industrial development zones are located in the suburbs, which is unevenly scattered in both amounts and size.2. Shanghai industrial development zones'average scale is less than the average scale of provincial and above level of development zones and far beyond the international development zones. The average land utilization is in the domestic leading position. Some of the industrial development zones'land is used extensively.3. Then fast progress of the industrial development zones is leading the expansion of Shanghai city construction, which is gradually spread from Puxi to Pudong, from city center to the periphery area. It also makes the city layout change from single center structure to multi-centers structure, from ring-layer layout to radial layout with multi-points.4. The growth of industrial development zones has changed the city industry structure from"II/III/I"to"III/II/I"and reduced the population of city center. The population of periphery areas and suburbs has increased a lot, which leads to the differentiation of social classes and territories.
