With the Scientific Outlook on Sustainable Development written in the Party constitution, regional sustainable development becomes a significant problem theoretically and actually. This paper takes regional sustainable competitiveness (RSC) as the research subject, analysis the relationship between FDI and RSC, and then proposed some suggestions. The main content is as follows:Chapter 1, narrate systematically the meaning and the aim of the research theme, the recent research status at home and abroad, as well as my essay's innovative points, thinking logic and research approach in the article.Chapter 2 summarizes the theories and concepts of regional competitiveness, and then on the basis of it, puts forward the meaning of RSC.Chapter 3 introduces the most impression evaluate system in worldwide-the Porter's theory of competitiveness and IMD's evaluate system firstly, and then brings forward the evaluate system of RSC, through comprehensively consider the present results and the meaning of RSC, finally elicits the new analytical frame of FDI and RSC.Chapter 4 describes the regional distribution of FDI by detailed and accurate statistical data, calculates the value of RSC, detailedly and roundly discuss about the relationship between FDI and RSC in Hubei province and inter-region of China by Regression Model, Cointegration Test and Granger Causality Test. The results indicate that FDI can promote the value of RSC indeed.Chapter 5 analyses the action mechanism of FDI promoting RSC on five points of view: factor added effects, industrial structure improved effects, employment effects, human resource effects, and mechanism turned effects.Chapter 6 comes up with some countermeasure according to above results. On the background of global economy integration, China should make full use of surplus capital in developed countries, and guide capital flows to region and industry, in order to ensure regional development balanced and sustained.
