The competency-based structured interview is a course of appraising the competent quality of job hunters. According to the required competencies of designated position and regular procedures, the structured interview uses special test item banks, standards and means of evaluation to appraise job hunters through the conversation face to face between examiners group and job hunters.This thesis discusses a new way of interview through the theories of competency, the theories of competency-based structured interview and the examples from recruitments of a company and a municipal office. It will be useful to improve the appraisement function of structured interviews and the application of competencies.First, it explained the background of the thesis, the current situation of domestic and foreign researches on it, the main contents of researches on it, the theories of competency and the theories of structured interview.Then, it analyzed the theories of competency-based structured interview and advanced the principles, areas, and weaknesses in it's applications.Next, there are some studies of two organizations which according to the above researches. One is the competency-based structured interview of an import and export corporation in Ningbo. Another is the structured interview of a state administration of taxation. Other organizations will draw some reference from the studies of competency-based structured interviews.At the end of the thesis, there is a conclusion for all the studies in it.The innovation of this thesis is that it has put forward the theories and applications of competency-based structured interview which integrate the theories of traditional structured interview and competency. And it also analyzed the application of the above theories in the practices of recruitments of enterprises and municipal offices and gave a solution of competency-based interview in an import and export corporation in ningbo.
