As a new treasure creator in modern society, cultural trade develops fast and has tremendous impact on traditional economic mode throughout the world, which throws a great influence to world structure, economic trend and sustainable development. Also, it makes essential contributions to economic growth, innovation function and strengthening of national, regional and urban competition which draws wide attentions internationally.Korea obtained great achievements in cultural trade and basically modernized the cultural industry. The feature of the modernization is the focus on human spirits, that is, the factor of culture is the basis of the success of Korean economy. At present. Korean culture is influential in Asia even in the whole world and becomes the imitation target. The key of Korean success is the focus on cultural tradition with national characteristics. The tradition merges with modern production method, production experiences and advanced international marketing methods. Human training is also an important factor with adequate funding and preferential system. With all of the above methods, the comparative cultural advantages turn into the competitive advantages in the international market. The target was turned into reality with governmental supports, human training, advanced international marketing method and adequate funding support.In the 21st century, China increasingly becomes an essential part of global economic system. China develops fast in economy and attracts most investment globally. However, China lags seriously in the cultural trade and vast trade deficit gap exists. China and Korea have had the cultural exchanges for a long time and are closely connected in culture. Since China and Korea's diplomatic relation establishment in 1992, they have been sharing each other's openness and achieve mutual benefits. Korean successful experience of culture-orientation and culture development is of great help. China can learn more experiences from the successful Korean cultural trade. Governments, the industry and the enterprises shall go and promote the development of Chinese cultural trade actively.This thesis firstly introduces the status quo of culture's development in the global scale and such basic knowledge and definitions as cultural industry and cultural trade. Then the thesis introduces the status quo of Korean cultural trade especially that of the three backbone industries—movies and TV, net games and cartoons which draw the successful experience. In the next part, movies and TV, performances and publications are taken as examples to describe the current situation of Chinese cultural trade and to find out the factors that hinders the development of China's cultural trade. With reference to successful Korean experience, suggestions from such aspects as governmental guidance, industrial efforts and enterprises action programs are given in the last part of the thesis to promote the development of China's cultural industry. In the aspect of governmental guidance, the role and function should be transferred to make documents encouraging cultural export, expand the financing source and legalize the intellectual rights. In the aspect of the cultural industry, human resource training for the development of cultural industry and suitable policies cooperating with governments should be on the focus. Also, the industry should preserve and carry forward Chinese culture heritage. And cultural enterprises should be familiar with international market rules to control complicated situation. International marketing also should be essential to build influential cultural brands in the international market to erase the cultural trade deficit and to strengthen Chinese cultural power and international competition.
