Electric power design engineering plays a key role in electric project construction. With the rapid development of national electric power construction, electric power design enterprises face real challenges and arduous tasks. To make a good use of advanced information management tools and gain profits from management is the necessity both for enterprises'existence and development.This paper discussed the implement methods of Project Management Information System (PMIS) in electric power design enterprises, which focused on project management and design-work-flow management.Base on the discussion and analysis on the necessity of information Construction in Electric power design enterprises, this paper proposed some principles and ideas, which accord with the basic law of the Project Management Information System(PMIS) implementation, and the main contains, basic structure forms of PMIS, as well as the Cooperated-platform of Data Management used in the PMIS.This paper proposed the'Sustained Growth'model applied on PMIS implementation, the PMIS Evaluation Index and the Fuzzy Synthetically Evaluation (FSE) method, base on the research of the practical implementation process of PMIS in Shanghai Electric Power Design Institute Co., Ltd. (SEPDI), and the analysis of the characteristics of SEPDI production management, and the difference between the SEPDI projects and traditional manufacturing industry design projects.Focus on the PMIS implementation in SEPDI according with the'Sustained Growth'model, the paper detailed the improvement of enterprise project management organizations, project management flow, project plan, project quality and progress control, and accomplished the works of system planning, physical architecture design, system processes and functional modules of PMIS, that provided a good framework structure for software implementation of the PMIS.The PMIS implementation is based on the existing commercial software, and combined with secondary development according with the enterprise demand, and used the FSE method to choose the system software platform provider. These methods fully integrated the resources and advantages of the enterprise and the software platform provider, and lay a good foundation of successful implementation and application of PMIS.At the last, the author evaluated the performance and profit of the PMIS Implementation in SEPDI. And the practical application proved the'Sustained Growth'model can ensure the PMIS be implemented successfully.
