With the rapid development of science and technology and the accelerative process of economic globalization, the level of technology, with all kinds of diversified ways, has increasingly become the key point to competitiveness. And standard in modern sense was born under this backround and gradually developed into an indispensable factor in the international economic and technological cooperation and competition. Since the reform and open policy, China's standardization developed rapidly. To the end of 2004, China's net standard stock has reached 21,342. As a stock of knowledge, it is bound to play an important role to economy. China, as a major exporter of agricultural products, due to the influence from the gap between standards in recent years, China's agricultural trade has suffered negative impact. Until now, there is no one to comprehensively and systematically study that the gap between the standards has an effect on China's agricultural trade and reaponse measures to make. For the current situation and the implementation of standards for agricultural exports, it is urgent to study what the gap between the standards for agricultural exports has brought, such as the positive and the negative effects. At the same time, formulating effective policies and measures and researching and applying technical means, which is to guide and help enterprises to actively respond to standard barriers in order to promote development of China's agricultural trade. On the ground of the above backgrounds, this paper studies the gap between the standards influences China's agricultural trade on base of theoretical analysis, empirical analysis and ideas of countermeasures researching as follows: analysing China's agricultural exports and the situation of the domestic and international agricultural standards, on base of which, analysing the standards'gap between China and deveoloped countries; analysing economic effectiveness of standard; then have a empirical analysis about that the gap between the standards influences agricultural trade from four aspects according to the standards classification; in view of data availabilty, the paper uses a econometric model and three examples to analyse; first of all, taking the exportation of honey, and concerning the honey export of China to the United States, Japan and Germany, the panel data, from 1995 to 2006, theoretically and empirically analysing the impact from the gap between the domestic and international agricultural standards to China's agricultural trade. The results showed that: In recent years, the gap between domestic and international agricultural standards had a negative impact on China's agricultural exports. And the level of China's economic development had a positive correlation with China's agricultural products exports. The formulation and implementation of China's non-pollution standards didn't play its due role in promoting China's agricultural expots. Subsequently, using examples to analyse the impact of campatible and interactive standards, diversity reduced standards and the gap between information standards on China's agricultural trade. Finally, on this basis, we just raise simple policies to provide referencial suggestions on China's agricultural development.
