The Research On The Development Of Industrial Clusters In Nanhu District, Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province

An industry cluster is a geographic concentration of interconnected enterprises and associated institutions in a particular field. Clusters are considered to increase competitivities by coopertion. With the increase of the economy's degree of marketization, many regions of the country have seen a rapid development of industrial clusters which has become a strategic manner of regional economic development. Theories and practices at home and abroad proves that the regional industry cluster is an important way to cultivate competitive advantages. Based on the theory of industry cluster, this paper discusses the development strategy of industrial clusters of Nanhu District, Jiaxing City,Zhejiang Province.On the overview of industrial clusters theory, this article analyses the path choice of the formation of industrial clusters and provides a theoretical basis for the development of Nanhu district's industrial clusters competitive advantages. With the assessment of Nanhu District's industrial and economic development, the article analyses the district's strategies of industry cluster and further pointes out that to promote the development of industrial clusters in Nanhu District is to promote its industrialization and urbanization process, bringing about social and economic fast development.According to recent status and problems of Nanhu District's industrial development, the article suggests that the district should focus on improving industrial competitiveness advantages, strengthening regional economic strength and following the objective rules of the industrial clusters development. The article also recommends that, by relying on the elite enterprises and their leading edge products, organic links of the product chain and the rational geographic layout of enterprises, the district should speed up building the production chain, and constantly improve the scale and competitiveness of its four industrial clusters, enhance the ability of independent innovation, promote the transformation of the mode of economic growth, speed up the pace of development in the field of advantages, promote interactive development of industrial clusters and industrial parks, and form new development patterns which features industrial clustering, rational layout and resource insensitivity. The article concludes with seven strategies that should be taken by Nanhu district in the development of industrial clusters.
