With the development-in-depth of the reform of the electric power system, it is very critical for the power generation enterprises, as the main part of the electric power market, to obtain excellent economic benefits by taking effective marketing strategies to encounter the new situations of the electricity supply's being greater than the demand. This paper, taking Jianbi Thermal Power Plant, a representative of the state-owned power generation enterprises, as an example, analyzes the power generation-side market and provides specific marketing measures and strategies to participate in the market competition, to decrease costs and increase the profits and to exert internal potential strength in aspects of electricity quantity, price, cost and electric energy quality. Through the analysis and research with relative theories of economy, marketing, strategy, costs, electric power market and electricity price on Jianbi Power Plant as a reference, it is expected to give some hints and help for other similar generation enterprises to handle with the electric power market competition which is more and more severe.
