The author, a railway staff with strong concerns for the future of railway enterprises in severe situation, utilizes modern logistics theory in combination with his work experiences to make a research for the development of railway freight station that is expect to give assistance for railway enterprises in the process of extending from modern logistics enterprises.The paper starts with the summarizes the weakness existed in management structure and service of railway freight station in China by analyzing the logistics development at home and abroad as well as present situation of railway freight station at home, so thus a natural place to study the contents of this paper and its theoretical and practical significance. Followed through on the railway system and logistics center in functions, processes, characteristics and railway freight stations to be compared, which leads to the railway freight station to the railway logistics center expansion of the necessity, feasibility and advantages.
