With the rapid development of market economy, in long period, railway freight stationways runs with traditional management model under the guidance of planned economy inChina, that has not adapted to the development of now, and the railway freight station couldnot already satisfied the demand of the market in its flexibility, transportation and servicequality, etc. Although the railway freight station has also introduced into many reforms, butthe effect is not obvious. Since China’s accession to the WTO, as the logistics market fullyopening to the outside world and international transportation market competition ofglobalization, logistics is faced with resource integration, rapid development of the goodopportunity and the challenge of market competition in our country. From the current and thelong term, relying on the resources of the existing railway freight station in our country,accelerated the transformation to modern logistics center that is the objective demand of theconstruction of integrated transport and logistics system of China, is one of the importantstrategic choice for railway freight reform and development. At the same time to realize rapidand sustained development of rail freight has profound and long-term strategic significanceand important practical significance. The main content of this paper is as follows:(1) To Chinese freight station present situation and the development status of domesticand international logistics center are analyzed, according to the development of the logisticscenter, summed up the role of railway logistics center.(2) Analyzed the difference between the railway freight station and logistics center,summed up the freight station that is the current development and management system in ourcountry has not adapt to the demand of the society, which naturally puts forward the contentof the thesis research and practical significance.(3) Through the SWOT analysis method from the aspects of qualitative analysis forestablishing the railway logistics center of all sorts of advantages and potential opportunities,and freight station existing disadvantages and threats, and thus leads to the transformation ofrailway freight station for the feasibility and necessity of logistics center, and the freightstation have all kinds of advantages after transformation.(4) Using cost-effectiveness analysis, detailed analysis of the costs and benefits ofrailway logistics center, starting from the cost-effectiveness of railway freight station andlogistics center, cost and benefit model are established respective ly, because of the cost modelonly considering cost, the model only considers benefits, in order to consider two factors thecost benefit, we use their cost-benefit ratio of the feasibility which the transition from railwayfreight station to logistics center from the aspects of quantitative analysis. Since currentlymost railway logistics center in the process of planning, expand, rebuilding, in terms of costsand benefits, no more authority and specific financial data, can only use their model of graphical analysis of the feasibility of railway freight station to the transformation o f logisticscenter.
