Eco-industrial Park (EIP) has emerged as the leading mode for the development of industrial park in the world since the 1990's. However, the EIP at home and abroad has not yet been built on the basis of consistent resource supply and stable carrying capacity of eco-environment. Therefore, it has been a key task for the development of eco-industry to undertake fundamental researches on eco-environment for the planning of EIP by applying the theory of ecological carrying capacity to the planning of EIP.This thesis firstly states the theoretical researches and practices on eco-system carrying capacity and the planning of EIP and, on the basis of the analysis on the structure, function and operation mechanism of the compound eco-system which is characterized with"society-economy-environment-resource"of EIP, defines as well as analyzes the concept and connotation of eco-system carrying capacity of EIP. Meanwhile, the author also builds an evaluation index system for eco-system carrying capacity of EIP from the aspects of supporting and pressure. In addition, the thesis analyzes the method of carrying rate quantification, which is one of the evaluation methods for the eco-system carrying capacity of EIP. The author, based on her practical investigation to the Suzhou New and High-Tech District(SND) and guided by the evaluation index system for eco-system carrying capacity of EIP, makes the following conclusions after initially analyzing the eco-system carrying capacity of the Park that: the carrying capacity of the water environment and the land resource in the region is relatively lower, the pressure degree of the water environment, water resource as well as energy cost is relatively higher and so on. At last, according to the evaluation, the author provides 6 suggestions and planning measures for the planning of EIP: (1)improving land use intensity; (2) focusing on the rational use of water resources and the protection of water environment; (3)constructing the SND ecological industrial chain; (4)improving energy-use planning; (5) green investment will focus on the efficiency of land use and water pollution control; (6)strengthening the construction of information and technology and promoting the active circulation of compound ecological systems.
