With reform progressing and finance opening steadily, competition between banks in our country becomes more and more fiercely. Endeavor to improve competitive ability has been the certain choice of commercial banks in China, which are confronted by the increasingly market-oriented competition condition. As is known to all, human resource management is the fundament in forming and improving the competitive ability of commercial banks in China. Therefore, how to improve human resource management in a new social and economic circumstance has been a key problem concerning the success /failure of commercial banks in China.Jiangsu branch of Bank of China is a important bank in BC system and all banks in Jiangsu province. It is also a model in human resource management before shareholding reform of BC. Now BC has completed the shareholding reform and listed successfully in June 2006. However, how to deepen system reform and innovation which take establishing corporation governance structure as its core is still a question to be discussed. And human resource management is the core of the question.By using successful experience of commercial banks in developed countries as reference and combining with analysis of human resource management in Jiangsu branch of BC, the article try to explore a human resource reform model which satisfy both the demand of modern commercial bank operation and the development of Jiangsu branch of BC which can help Jiangsu branch of BC to get superiority in competition and realize the strategy of long-term development.
