Ever since the advancement of industrialization, economic development has been conflicting with environmental preservation which has constrained our economic and social development. The traditional linear industrial practice which characterizes with high capital investment, huge resource consumption, severe pollution no longer adapt to present situation of economic development in China. The theory of Eco-Industrial chain has found a new path to the transformation of linear industrial practices. Through the industrial practices, Eco-Industrial Chain simulates natural ecological system and turn the byproducts of up-stream enterprises into materials which down-stream enterprises have input. Through such restructured industrial practices, EIC achieve the multi-level, circular, and effective usage of material, energy as well as information which enhances the efficiency of resources utilization, eliminates the environmental pollution, thus it is an important way of realizing sustainable development.Through applying both systematic and normative analysis, this research centers on growth mechanism of Eco-Industrial chain. The author has carried out relevant researches following the logic process of proposing questions, analyzing questions, as well as solving questions. The writer has carried out analysis on the formation of EIC, the conducive and baffling factors. The dissertation is divided into 6 parts:Section one primarily discusses theoretical questions such as the connotation, structure and well as the essence of Eco-Industrial Chain. Section two probes the fundamental theory of the Eco-Industrial Chain, and discusses the structuring and development of EIC from the perspective of Economics as well as Systematic theory. Then the author further explores other relevant theories based on the above-mentioned theories. Section three focuses on the research of driving mechanism of EIC development. The factor of cost is the primary impetus factors to the evolution of EIC and industrial cluster has strong impetus towards the growth of EIC. National policies play an important role in the process of the growth of EIC besides, social factors also play a fundamental role in this process. Section four has analyzed the theoretical and practical factors that have impeded the evolution of EIP. Section five has centered on the empirical analysis. Using East-west Lake Xingou EIP as an example, the author has carried out deep analysis on its typical EIC, drawn insightful experiences and proposed feasible countermeasures. Section six has summarized the main ideas of the dissertation and offered some feasible suggestions. Besides it also pointed out the limitation of this research and the direction of further research. The innovation of this dissertation mainly embodies in the following: 1. the innovation of content of study. Through the analysis of driving mechanism as well as baffling mechanism of EIC, the author has identified outstanding questions that has impeded the development of EIC and analyzed the conducive factors which has provided theoretical sustention for the growth of EIC. 2. The innovation of perspectives this dissertation has conducted researches on conducive factors as well baffling factors starting from the research framework which combines Economics as well as Systematic theory thus providing the new perspective for the EIC research.
