A Primary Research On The Development And The Evolvement Of Market Space Of Foshan During Ming And Qing Dynasties

Foshan is a famous town of Nanhai County in Guangdong Provinc,which had grown up in Ming dynasty and became a great economical capital in Lingnan area in Qing dynasty.At the same time,Foshan,Hankou,Zhuxian and Jingde were the most famous towns in Qing dynasty.Foshan Town's formation,development and evolution have something in common with the tradition of the China city's development,but it has its own characteristic as a town.I try to study the trait of the development of Foshan Town,the evovlement of Foshan town's function and the evolutive law of Foshan Town's inside and outside market space from historical and georgrayphical aspect.And I hope this thesis could not only potentiate our cognition and comprehension about Foshan Town's development in Ming and Qing Dynasties,but also be used for reference of Foshan city's building and father development nowadays.The thesis studies on the development and the market space of Foshan during Ming and Qing Dynasties from three aspects.As follows:The first part researches on the environmental background that Foshan Town depend on from natural and human aspects,which lays a foundation for research the evovlment of Foshan Town's administrative subjection and the rise of Foshan Town in Ming and Qing Dynasties.And the instauration of Foshan Tongzhi and the development of the Foshan Town in Qing dynasty are the most important questions in this part.I try to make use of the principle that economy and politics have interactive relations to prove that the Foshan Tongzhi had played an important role in Foshan's development in Qing dynasty.This viewpoint is not only the original part in this thesis,but also lays a foundation for the following text.The second part is very important,which researches on the development and evolvment of Foshan Town's modality and function in Ming and Qing Dynasties.Most ordinary towns existed as political center firstly in history,nextly as economical center,but Foshan was just not of this kind.Foshan Town had played doubel part as economical and political center in Qing dynasty,while it had played single part as a economical center in Ming dynasty.The third part researches on the evolvement of Foshan Town's inside and outside market space and latter-day course of Foshan Town in Ming and Qing Dynasties, which is the hard core of this thesis.I try to study the evolvement of inside and outsid trade area of Foshan Town,consequently I'll find the evolutive law of inside and outsid market space of Foshan Town.Besids,I'll study the latter-day course of Foshan Town from ecnomical,political and cultural aspect.
