As the development of china economy, the competition between enterprises is becoming stronger and stronger, the enterprises' requirements of management knowledge, technique and experience drive china's management consulting industry to a new level of development. There are enormous successful consulting examples appeared in the process of development of china management consulting industry, however, there are also lots of unsuccessful cases, from which we can find and learn the key points of how to construct and operate an effective team and the importance of team leadership in teamwork. This paper is a piece of research of how to improve the effectiveness of leadership in management consulting team.Based on literature review, I defined the management consulting team and the leadership of management consulting team firstly, and analyzed the key features of management consulting team, thus, analyzed the standards of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the leadership of management consulting team. Then combining the factual circumstance of management consulting team, pointed out eight most important factors which can influence the effectiveness of the leadership of management consulting team, these eight factors can be divided into three dimensions. The dimension of consulting team members, including the personalities of project managers and consultants, the dimension of the process of consulting team, including the criterion, conflicts and the role balance of consulting team, and the dimension of environment, including the supports of top managers of clients, the supports of consulting companies, and the differences between the consulting team's culture and the client's corporation culture.To validate the correctness of my theoretic studies, I used questionnaires as the main method of my empirical research. Using SPSS statistical analyses software to process the data which I collected from questionnaires, many methods are adopted, such as reliability analysis, factor analysis, scale analysis, mean analysis and so on. The result successfully validated the factors which I pointed out. Furthermore, I put forward the solutions and advices for the effectiveness of the leadership of consulting team.
