A Study On Logistics Development Strategy Of Jinzhou Port

With the more frequent foreign trade contacts, port logistics is becoming an important field of modern logistics, playing a prominent role in international trade and logistics. The important issues on Jinzhou Port lying ahead of us are to realize the opportunity and pressure of Jinzhou Port logistics brought by the setup of Liaoning port cluster and the competition of its surrounding ports, and how to improve its own competitiveness and seize the developing opportunity to win the market. This thesis researches the developing strategy of Jinzhou Port logistics, basing on building Dalian International Shipping Center in North-East Asia and Construction of 'Five Points, One Line' in Liaoning, adopting SWOT analysis and competitiveness evaluation, discussing its competition orientation and strategic target, trying to put forward strategic planning and measure to strengthen port logistics competitive advantages.The author holds that there is a considerable gap between the current development of Jinzhou port logistics and that of Dalian port which has higher service efficiency and better logistics service. Compared with Yingkou Port, Jinzhou Port still has a long way to go in port scale, logistics volume, construction of logistics hardware facilities and port logistics competitiveness. In spite of the above situation, the future logistics volume is totally probable to achieve the breakthrough to finish the quality transformation and surpass Yingkou Port, accompanied by improving port logistics service and breaking through the quantity. Therefore, port layout plan is with the core of Dalian International Shipping Center in North-East Asia, with the flanking of Yingkou Port and Jinzhou Port and with the supplement of Panjin Port and Huludao Port. Facing the competition in and out of province, Jinzhou Port must confirm its own competition orientation and strategic target. That is to exert location advantage and port resources advantage fully, develop modern logistics actively, quicken the pace of port resource conformity, expand port function, construct logistics chain of main cargoes, speed up the building pace of Xihai industrial area, set up logistics information exchange system, launch incremental logistics business, such as distribution, processing to refit, packaging, customs declarations, commodity inspection, insurance, information exchange, in order to realize leap development of logistics volume and port logistics service.
