After funded in 1984 with 1, 000 dollars, D Company has achieved one after one mile-stoned success by D Company Model. Until the end of 2004, the annual sale has exceeded 500 hundred million dollars and more than 50 thousands people were hired by D Company. But the growth of D Company is slowing down in recent two years, the price of PC is coming down constantly made this direct model, the unique weapon not as powerful as before , the business environment is kept changing and fast than ever, the consumer customer like to touch before buying, the competition from rivals was not in one particular area but extend globally, the demand of market and customer is variable and pretty hard to predict since there are thousand of products and new technology come up in front of them, the life cycle of the product is became shorter and shorter while the price war is intensive among this IT industry, how can we beat the all above challenges and turn around, we should and have to find out the new manufacturing method that to be low cost, time to market and flexible.As an employee of D Company, the writer is trying to introduce and analyze DCompany Model thoroughly with the working experience in D Company as toexplore the secret for D Company's achievements and also put forward theenlightenments for enterprises in China.This paper includes four parts.Chapter One, Introduction. This section mainly introduces the definition of DCompany direct business model and flexible Manufacturing system. Meanwhileintroduces the researching content and method in this paper.Chapter Two, Analysis on D Company Manufacturing Model. This section mainly introduces the current Manufacturing system and analyzes the demand under current situation. Also the section introduces the disadvantage of current Manufacturing model.Chapter Three, Innovation and Application of Manufacturing Model. The first section introduces flexible human resource with the human resource's structure skill. Meanwhile introduces the project of Direct Labor Pool. The second section introduces the flexible equipment and the sharing between equipments. The third section introduces flexible planning system. Chapter Four , Evaluation on Flexible Manufacturing Model. The charter evaluates the new model through productivity, quality, velocity and cost.
