At present, the living and development environment of Internet corporate is now undergoing great changes. All sorts of new technologies, new products, new ideas emerge one after another. Internet companies are trying to make profits in a variety of ways . Establishing and maintaining a profit model which can lead to lasting profits and competitive to company is the foundation of a successful Internet corporate.There are significant differences in different Internet profit models that exist in different technological conditions, users, social conditions and market environment. This article sort out the internet trends, the development of Internet companies and profitability of Internet companies . And build the 3rd generation internet profit model on the basis of summarizing the 1st and 2nd generation internet profit model. The article elaborate the background, foundation, component parts of the 3rd generation internet profit model and develop the 4 critical factors which have a major effect on the building of the 3rd generation internet profit model.This article holds the point that in the 1st generation Internet profit model consumers purchase of a variety of goods and services through the Internet. There are three major characteristics of 1st generation Internet profit model. The first is Internet corporate working as an "intermediary". The second is that the relationship between the main parts is simple. The third is that the core of this model is the sale of products and services. But this kind of model is confined by certain market, and the high requirement to enterprises. In the 2nd generation Internet profit model corporate attract audiences through the free content and services, and sell the audience's attention to advertisers. The corporate which uses this kind of profit model has very strong media properties.Building of the 3rd generation of the Internet profit model is based on the current Internet's unique environment. Changes in network technology environment and demands of Internet users and the appearance of the new characteristics of the internet economy has led to a series of changes, ie the value and the measure of value of internet , the relationship between cyberspace and the physical space, the relationship between Internet users. Understanding these changes is the preconditions for understanding the 3rd generation internet profit model. The structure of the 3rd generation internet profit model is more complex .The relationship between the Users in the network is more complex, and the users always have multiple identities. User who contribute content and value is the core of the 3rd generation internet profit model. The main work of corporate is providing support to keep the network running. The profit site, profit target, source of profit, profit leverage, profit barriers of the third generation of the Internet profit model are developing thoroughly in paper.At the end of the paper,4 critical factors which are the necessary condition on the building of the 3rd generation internet profit model are being raised: Reappraisal profit targets; Creating a valuable profit site; treasuring UGC; improving competitiveness; concerning the building of the relationship between subject in cyberspace; establishing a solid profit barrier.
