Energy conservation and emission reduction are a vital strategic problem of the sustainable development of socio-economy,and also a strategic task issued by the Central Government for our country's economic and social development.Coal-fired power plants can provide clean energy of electric power,but they are the dominant consumer of primary energy and the dominant polluter.Therefore,Coal-fired power plants become one of the most important fields of implementing energy conservation and emission reduction in China.Based on technical theory of energy conservation and pollution reduction,the necessity and urgency of the implementation of Jiangxi Fengcheng power plant's energy conservation and emission reduction projects are demonstrated according to the survey and analysis on the regional economy's development and environmental protection as well as the energy-conservation policy in this paper.Based on the domestic and abroad advanced experiences of energy conservation and emission reduction,a series analysis is conducted which aims to overcome the existing problems of domestically produced 300MW coal-fired generator set.The main contents include:feasibility study,economic and technical analysis,selection of technical scheme,project construction and operation,governmental support policy,and project optimization.The study results are helpful to reduce pollutant emissions for Fengcheng Power Corporation.
