A great many achievements have been made in Fujian Province in constructing the new country, but there are still problems to be solved. Far from being fully motivated, farmers have not developed their ability to the full in carving out; policies established by the government are not in place in guiding farmers'carving-out in the country, those are problems to be named but a few. As is known, to cultivate entrepreneurial farmers plays an important role in the construction of new country. Meanwhile, to promote rural economy, a new tendency has emerged, that is, to develop a modern-agriculture-oriented industry, including the system of agriculture and that of non-agriculture. This system is expected to generate more opportunities for farmers to settle down as local employers or employees. thus, the problem of"rural economy, rural development and rural demography"could be solved as a whole. This dissertation is meant to research and work out methods to cultivate entrepreneurial farmers in Fujian Province in terms of the development of rural industries. Section one, as an introduction, is to introduce the background, goals and methods of the research. Section two focuses on the theoretical ground on which stands the dissertation. Included are the theory of human capital, the theory of carving-out, the theory of industrial organization. The connotation of entrepreneurial farmers has been figured out as those farmers who, driven by their strong desires to carve out, with some producer goods and skills in hand, are courageous enough to seek the opportunity to pioneer in some new fields and thus to maximize their personal profit. In section three, status quo of Fujian farmers'carving-out has been expatiated upon, so has been its features and difference of effects of farmers'carving-out in different areas. This section also analyzes the interaction between the development of rural industries and the cultivation of entrepreneurial farmers. Section four puts forward the methods to cultivate entrepreneurial farmers. Farmers with capital and potential are to be trained and promoted to promote their ability to carve out. By doing so, those farmers are expected to be specialized households or entrepreneurs. In section five, three cases from the county of Yongding,Dehua and Shaxian respectively, prove the theory of entrepreneurial farmers cultivation. Section six are some proposals from different aspects to promote the cultivation of entrepreneurial farmers. Section seven severs as a conclusion. The dissertation makes a breakthrough in that it frames a mode to cultivate entrepreneurial farmers in terms of the development of rural industries. By defining entrepreneurial farmers, the thesis points out that the growth of rural industries is important to the effect of farmers'carving-out activities. Moreover, it demonstrates the positive effects exerted upon on the cultivation of entrepreneurial farmers by the growth of rural industries.Owing to its macroscopic views, the thesis does not suffice in the research of the carving-out activities of the farmers as individuals. Additionally, the research lacks its depth in finding out the regular patterns of the rural industry growth.
