With the development of the economy, not only conventional industry has been changed its style, but great number of knowledge workers has been appeared. As one of the greatest important types of workers, knowledge workers do vital influence to modern high-tech corporations, especially to high-tech SMEs.In China, high-tech SMEs in our country has only a history of 10 years. So, high-tech SMEs in our country appeared comparatively later than those in the developed countries. Because of its short history, the experience of management is very poor.Many high-tech SMEs was in a position in great need of management theory. As a result, it is very essential to manage the knowledge workers effectively in high-tech SMEs so that they can try their best in working.The paper firstly make introductions on traditional inspiration theory and modern knowledge-based employee-related inspiration theory, then puts forward the concept of new&high technology enterprises and analyzes the characteristics of the employees in the new&high technology enterprises in detail. Furthermore, a careful analysis and comparison on needs and wants factors about knowledge workers in hi-tech enterprises are conducted in many ways such as abundant literature review and survey etc. Based on this research, the author finally provides some principles enterprise should abide by when establishing motivation system as well as concrete methods on the motivation of knowledge staff in hi-tech industry.This kind of inspiration model overcomes the disadvantages of the older ones, which are simplex and discontinuous, and supplies a set of system following knowledgeworker with different stages and changes in their Occupational Career Development.
