Study On Knowledge Acquisition Of Industrial Clusters Based On Social Capital

In the era of knowledge economy, knowledge is increasingly becoming a unique resource companies, and become a source of core competence. Because of the high speed of knowledge renewal and the limited of knowledge stock, enterprises must continue to acquire knowledge from outside to maintain competitive advantage. Previous studies have shown that knowledge acquisition and knowledge sharing plays an important role in innovation, but large of them treat enterprise as the research target; few scholars conduct their study from the perspective of industrial clusters. Industrial clusters in China is still in its initial stage, which is at the low end of global value chains, the promoting role of internal knowledge for innovation is very limited. Therefore, the study of internal and external knowledge acquisition of industrial clusters is of great significance for knowledge innovation and upgrading of industrial clusters.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The article first introduced the background of study and research significance, and then identifies the main research questions and theoretical research framework. Take the role of knowledge acquisition in innovation and the advantages of enterprise clusters in knowledge flow and acquisition into consideration, a literature review on knowledge acquisition, collective learning and clusters innovation is made in the first part of the dissertation.In the second chapter, the mechanism of knowledge acquisition was analyzed from three dimensions of social capital: structure dimension, relational dimension and cognition dimension. The author pointed out that industrial cluster should strengthen their links with outside, and cultivate external social capital to obtain new external knowledge and technology, which can help the enterprises avoid the risk of technological lock-in. The acquisition of external knowledge of industrial districts was also analyzed based on focal firm, which is considered as an important bridge to external knowledge. The "push "and" pull "mechanism of external knowledge acquisition was constructed based on the analysis of preferential attachment characters and demand of balance in the tie strength. Based on the SECI model, a knowledge transformation model based on the theory of relation ties and knowledge integration model based on focal enterprise were put forward in this article. In fourth chapter, this paper summarized the factors influencing knowledge acquisition of the industrial cluster and an ANP model was build. Based on the theory and algorithm of ANP,the priorities of every factor were calculated to benefit the practice and development of industrial clusters.Finally, a number of issues and future directions are summarized in the final sections of this paper.
