Research On The International Competitiveness Of Zhejiang Province's Textile And Clothing Industry Based On Industrial Cluster

China is the largest exporter of textile in the world. Textile and clothing industry is our traditional manufacturing enterprise with comparative advantage. It plays the key role in creating great trade surplus, solving employment and promoting regional economic development. Zhejiang Province is one of the most important exporting textile areas. But since most of them are minor enterprises, homogenization, lower additional-value and long-term low-price competition made it into troubles of anti-dumping and trade barrier. In recent years, with the appreciation of RMB, increasing of labor cost and raw material many textile export companies are now in great difficulties. But in Italy it goes well in textile and garments, which has similar industrial cluster with Zhejiang. "Made in Italy" always means the fashion and trend and keeps special competitive advantage. Compared with these two industrial clusters in Italy and Zhejiang the paper aims to find out the core reason that hinders the growth of Zhejiang's textile. SWOT analysis here is for in-depth and thorough analysis which will give some constructive countermeasures and suggestion based on this result. Hope it will also be practical for the sustainable development of China's textile and clothing industry.Comparative analysis and case study are the major methods in this paper and the author makes an attempt to innovate as follows:1. Choose one typical province as research subject; make an estimate of its international competitiveness, which will be used for reference in textile and clothing industry in our country.2. Choose one of the most competitive countries in textile and clothing industry, research its character in industrial cluster and compared it with the target. This makes the demonstration more fair and convictive.
