| In the era of knowledge economy, Knowledge is gradually repla cing the traditional factors of production, as the chief resource for enterprise development. There is much to support the assertion that the intellectual capital is instrumental in the determination of enterp rise value and national economic performance. Thereby, the seeking to increase the performance of organizations traced to the impact mechanism of intellectual capital. Many of the early studies in the area has found that strategic leadership is the most important indivi -dual factor to impact intellectual capital.Accordingly, the purpose of this paper is to study the relationship during the strategic leadership, intellectual capital and organizational performance. And to introduce intellectual capital as a mediating construct between strategic leadership and organizational performance. We begin by outlining a conceptualization of the various aspects on intellectual capital and strategic leadership, raised the structure of the models and assumptions of the study. Next, we examine how strategic leadership configurations might facilitate the development of these various aspects of intellectual capital and how intellectual capital might enhance organizational performance. Then, we test the mediating role of intellectual capital between strategic leadership and organizational performance. To conclude, we discuss the implications of our findings and briefly outline several limitations of the present study as well as suggest potential future research directions.The data were collected from 144 employees from different industries, organization setting and job level. The Empirical Analysis and Statistical analysis were used to test our research model. The result shows that the effect of some substitute for leadership on intellectual capital is significant and strong; The main effect of some substitute for intellectual capital on organizational performance is significant and different; the strategic leadership activities do not directly increase organizational performance, rather help increase the level of human capital, social capital and organizational capital, which, in turn, drive organizational performance, that means intellectual capital play a intermediary role between strategic leadership and organizational performance.Our study suggests expanding the factors that affect the intellectual capital by adding "strategic leadership". Because the characteristic dimensions of strategic leadership were introduced in this new structure, our research on relationship between strategic leadership and intellectual capital helps us understanding the efect of strategic leadership deeply. In addition, we add intellectual capital in our research model of that how leadership affect organizational performance, the result gives us some useful suggestion on leadership exercise to maintain and enhance the performance and Competitiveness of the organization. |
