The family enterprise, as a special kind of organizational form of enterprise, shows many different characteristics in operations and management from early manual workshop to family groups today, especially in human resource management. Some of these characteristics can greatly enhance the enterprise internal cohesiveness and accelerate the progress of enterprises' development effectively, and some do the opposite, they hamper the development of the organization, obstruct the pace of enterprise development. At present, more and more experts and scholars pay attention to the human resource management in family company, in order to strengthen the company advantages coping with the external environment.Human resource manager is the nuclear of human resource planning and management; an outstanding human resource manager will bring fresh blood into the enterprise continuously, so as to provide constant development power of enterprise. And as the knowledge and economy develop rapidly presently, human resources managers are becoming a particularly important part of company development.The article constructs a basic theoretical competency model of human resource manager in family company basing on previous relevant human resource manager competency research, combined with the particularity characteristics of family enterprise. The author put forward the competency model formally after analyzing questionnaire data.The result of research shows that HR managers' competence model of Chinese family companies contains four clusters (dimensions) within 12 competence factors:Knowledge (including specialized knowledge, awareness of learning and learning ability, information collection and analytical skills);Business partners (including self-confidence, initiative, customer service consciousness);Efficiency (including interpersonal communication ability, guiding ability, flexibility);Family cultural concern (including internal care, influence, the organization of responsibility)Further more, the article expounds the innovations of this research, it contents: Enlarge human resources manager competence model building methods and practical field; provides sufficient supports on the human resource manager selection and performance improvement in Chinese family enterprises. And the research also gets some insufficiency, including sample selection and performance measurement method. Finally the author discusses further discussed the future study trends and directions.
