Peasant labor occurred in the mid-1980s of the last century. To the reform and opening of China as a dividing line, it has formed old and new generations of peasant labor groups. The new generation of peasant labor is a generation growing up with the reform and opening. Compared with the older generation of peasant labor, the new generation of peasant labor have a higher degree of formal education, self-awareness, strong cognitive of the outside world, and some have been shown to the need of seeking better personal development opportunities, longing for success and being recognized. The new change arising from the growing group of peasant labor, required that the enterprises have to adopt new methods of management and incentives to the peasant labor. As a result, this article used the achievement motivation as variables, by exploring the differences between the new and the older generations of peasant labor on the tendency to work, to study the growth characteristics. Further, by introducing the variable of job satisfaction and exploring the relationship between the achievement motivation and the job satisfaction, this research reveal if the internal driving force to successes can effectively improve the job satisfaction and ultimately enhance performance and self-development.This research selected samples of the peasant labor from two of the small and medium-sized private enterprises in WuXi, took Helmreich and Spence Work and Family Orientation Questionnaire and the short form of Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire as research tools. A total of 240 questionnaires were collected and the number of valid questionnaires was 233. Statistical analysis, such as Description Statistical Analysis, Independent Samples T Test, One-way ANOVA, Correlation Analysis and Regression Analysis, is conducted with SPSS software. Empirical conclusions are as follows:1. Due to the higher level of education, the new generation of peasant labor's achievement motivation is found to be higher than the older generation of peasant labor's.2. The peasant labors are found to be satisfied with their jobs on the whole, and more concerned about external satisfaction.3. The new generation of peasant labor's two factors of achievement motivation (mastery, work orientation and competition) are found to be significantly positive correlated with each factors of job satisfaction.4. There is found to be causal relationship between the new generation of peasant labor's two factors of achievement motivation (mastery, work orientation and competition) and each factors of job satisfaction.According to the conclusions of this research, there are some suggestions to promote the peasant labor's management and incentive.
