The Analysis On The International Competitiveness Of Service Trade In China

Since the 20th century, 90 years, with the rapid development of world trade in services, the development of trade in services are more and more attention and emphasis. In recent years, China's foreign trade in services has achieved great development, but contrast with some developed countries, China's service trade is not high levels of competitiveness. This paper analyzes the status quo of China's trade in services and problems, using traditional services trade competitiveness index system and the international input-output method to analyze the level of China's service trade competitiveness, And gain an international comparison, Finally draw the corresponding conclusions and Enlightenment.This paper is divided into five sections. Section one (Introduction) introduces the theoretical and practical significance of this subject, provides a brief reviews of the relevant literatures both from domestic and abroad scholars, at last gives the structure of this paper and also the conclusions and the innovative point of this paper. The second part explains the basic research of trade in services,focuses on ways to understand the definition of trade in services, competitiveness of trade in services theory and index system, and how to use the input-output method to study the international competitiveness of trade in services.Section three discusses China's service trade import and export indexes. Through the study of China's service trade development since 2001, we summed up China's service trade problems. We think that the structural imbalances in trade and the low level services trade competitiveness is the main problems of currently China's service trade.The fourth part use input-output method to analyze the situation of China's service trade。By study of China's service trade of intermediate goods and final products, spill-over effects analysis and technical dependence analysis. We believe that China's service trade exports are mainly concentrated in labor-intensive products; has less influence on the world; China's service trade gradually increase the degree of foreign technological dependence.Section five summarizes the analysis of the paper and makes policy recommendations on how to enhance the international competitiveness of China's service trade. China's service trade exports concentrated in labor-intensive services, although the rapid development of modern service industry, but it is not the main body of China's service trade exports;China's service trade to the influence of the latter factor less, indicating China's service trade's international influence is limited;China's service trade in international technology becomes increasingly dependent, indicating China's service trade in services imports has an import role on the development and upgrading of China's service trade. The overall competitiveness of China's service trade is weak, but with the depth extent of China's opening up, China's service trade competitiveness increases rapidly, the status of long-term deficit of China's trade in services is changing. To enhance the international competitiveness of China's service trade ,We should expand opening up, optimize the service industry structure and the strengthening of multi-bilateral co-operation.
