UREE Coordinated Development Of Lanzhou-Xining Area

Lanzhou-Xining area is one of the fastest growing urban areas of Northwest China region. There are abundant mineral resources to support the development of its urbanization, however, some factors such as the scarcity water and soil resources, serious environmental pollution and fragile ecological environment become obstacles to the development of urbanization, especially the fragile ecological environment, which has been a bottleneck in the development of the region.The Urbanization level of Lanzhou-Xining area is not only influence on the towns and social development of Northwest China directly, but also affected the successfully achieved of Western Development Strategy. Strengthen ecological environment construction in Lanzhou-Xining city-and-town concentrated area not only to the process of urbanization, but also to the upper reaches of the Yellow River, improvement of ecological environment of Northwest China. The stress between the four roles of U (Urbanization) R (resource) E (Ecological) E (environmental)of Lanzhou-Xining area is studied from the perspective of system science. Through the 1986-2007 years UREE system coordination degree calculation of Lanxi regional, the trend between urbanization and resources, ecology, and environmental development in the 20 years is obtained:rose to a high degree of coordination by the basic coordination, and then changed to the uncoordinated.The ideal model of urbanization must be taken to promote coordinated development of UREE system in Lanzhou-Xining area. Specifically, ideal model of urbanization contains moderate urbanization model and healthy urbanization model. Moderate urbanization model is such a model that Urbanization is coordination with resources, ecology and environment. Healthy urbanization model is such a model that combined with the new rural construction, metropolitan cities in the coordinated development of small cities, regional development, economic and social development in the Coordination of ecological and environment.
