Major Floods And Droughts In Nearly Three Decades Of China's Rural Economy

This paper elaborates on the theoretical basis of economics of natural disasters. Then with a way of thinking of farmers, agriculture and the rural economy, through statistical data of the economic loss caused by Natural disasters such as flood, drought in the 30 years, this paper applies the theoretical of economics and positivist analysis, adopts the principles of combining qualitative and quantitative analysis, focuses on the analysis that the natural disasters impact on the rural economy. At length, by recognizing the poverty problem of China's rural areas, puts forward the relation between poverty of rural areas and disasters of flood and drought, and advances a series of concrete measures of disaster mitigation and Aid-the-Rural-Poor. To wish to make a reference and direction in governments'work and the policy making for disaster mitigation.
