This paper introduces two modern design theories about ergonomic design and parametric design and applies them to two specific research things respectively.The ergonomic part mainly researches the theory and technique of human-machine-environment system on infantry tank. The aspects that disagree with the situation of our country are put forward to improve from ergonomic viewpoint. The important parts are redesigned and constructive advice on the former layout is given.The parametric design part mainly introduces the CAD technology to the artillery design. Through research of parametric technology application in artillery design based on I-DEAS, a parametric design scheme was proposed. By analyzing the different type of artillery, universal parametric models of artillery components were established. Also the relevant graphics library was established according to the data management mechanism of I-DEAS. Software developed with VC and VB use the PRO files in I-DEAS to deliver the parameter and produce the parametric models.
