The design and production of the truck crane have more than 50 year' s history in our country. The development of truck crane, however, was slow as the well known reason. Since 1990' s, it was accelerated in our country, but the products still could not reach the advanced international level in the quality stability, automation, and intelligent.In this paper, the design of QY25 truck crane is studied in detail. The design method of main mechanisms of the crane, which includes the winch section, rotary bearing, and the extension section, is described. The layout of directing (triangle) tri-joint mechanism, which affects the performance of crane greatly, is optimized. At the same time, the load of axles, the rated load capacity which depends on the tipping stability of the crane and the maximal support force of the out-triggers are calculated by the VB programs. All the research works give a lot of advices for middle and mini truck crane design, which will have great application background.
