The scatterance of muzzle velocity is a key parameter which affects the precision of time fuze. The traditional measurements of the muzzle velocity which depend on the complex device are complicated. According to the relation between the muzzle velocity and the muzzle revolving cycle, a new electronic time fuze which bases on the technology of timing by turns-counting is studied. The technology of timing by turns-counting is analyzed. Adopting the new technology, measuring the muzzle revolving cycle could be made out without any complex measuring device. This technology would not change existent equipment artillery. Furthermore, it can improve the precision assault, as well as adapting the technology requirements which are put forward in modern time communication war to antiaircraft artillery. The working principle of this new technology and the technique approach are described. The modal of the fuse system with timing by turns-counting is established. The precision of muzzle revolving cycle is emphatically analyzed. The limit error, the timing of starting point error, the timing parameters error and the linearity extrapolation error are researched. The action precision of the fuze is researched by simulation. The working principle of GMR sensor is analyzed. The feasibility of applying of this sensor is demonstrated. The interfaces of sensors and the signal condition circuit are designed. The working circumstance of fuze and the application criterion of the time-base oscillator for the electronic time fuze are discussed. The improved LC oscillator is designed as the time-base oscillator.Microprocessor of Atmega8515 and CPLD (Complex Programmable Logic Device) are used to design the timing system circuit. The experiment in lab is made out and the result is analyzed. The feasibility of the timing system application is demonstrated.
