Nutation gear speed reducer drive is a kind of new-style speed reducer drive. nutation gear drive system is a kind of bevel gear transmission system which has big axial angle contoured structure that is designed with nutation's mathematical and physical conceptions. nutation gear speed reducer drive has very developmental future in practical engineering.This paper focuses on the basic problems which include the principle, transmission ratio formula, construction design, parameterization dummy assembly, digital simulation of running for nutation drive.This paper works out the calculating formula of the transmission ratio of nutation gear speed transmission drive, analyzes and studies different kinds of interference problems of involute nutation gear drive, and supply the theoretical gists for subsequent 3D modeling and movement simulating of nutation gear reducer.The principles and methods for accuracy parameterization modeling of the internal and external involute bevel gears are put forward.On the basis of the whole construction of the reducer, the 3D modeling and virtual assembling by parameterizing for the decelerating device of the nutation gear have been completed in PRO/ENGINEER system.Based on the PRO/ENGINEER, this paper applies nutation theory to design a kind of decelerating device of the nutation gear, establishes its 3D solid model and simulates its movement simulation. Through the correct result of movement simulation, on the one hand it confirms the feasibility and the validity of nutation theory to apply in the gear decelerating and driving mechanism is tested; on the other hand the the validity of the design for decelerating device of the nutation gear.This paper puts forword the method of researching the function of decelerating device of the nutation gear by parameterization dummy assembling and works out the impact rules of (angle of nutation drive to function of decelerating device of the nutation gear.
