The present study reports a study of English classroom environment in Senior high school in China and the students' perception of classroom environment association with student's satisfaction. Data were collected from a sample of 285 subjects in 4 classes. Scale and item analyses confirm good reliability and validity for a refined 23-item six-factor version of the instrument assessing Teacher support, Students Involvement, Difficulty, Order and organization, Innovation, Satisfaction as independent measures of the social-psychological learning environment. Potential applications of the new instruments are suggested in Chinese classroom. Descriptive statistics generally reveals that these students perceive a positive learning environment in the typical English class in terms of relatively high Teacher support and low Difficulty. On the other hand, Students feel quite satisfied with English classes, but. Students Involvement and Innovation in class still remain to be improved in TEFL. Relationships between students' satisfaction and classroom environment were investigated by using simple and multiple correlation analyses. Association between satisfaction and the learning environment were statistically significant. Among the scales, Student Involvement has the strongest (and positive) association with Satisfaction, while Difficulty is negatively and significantly associated with Satisfaction. The author believes that these findings will make some contributions to the field of classroom environment research in TEFL class.
