With the great development of society, economy, culture, and technology, our country is carrying on the new round curriculum reform. The teaching method of discovery is consistent with the educational ideas advocated in the new curriculum reform.In the new curriculum reform, Classical Chinese teaching is lagging behind and the result is not ideal. It has always been considered waste-of-time than harvest to teach and learn the classical Chinese. This study is understaken to change the traditional model of classical Chinese teaching and the learning methods; to change the current situation which is called"teach tastelessly, study senselessly, waste-of-time than harvest in teaching proficiency" to make classical Chinese teaching Vitality. As a result, students can acquire knowledge by active exploration and discovery not by passive acceptence, the classroom atmosthere is more vital.In this paper, the author first states the emergence and the developmental process of the discovery method, then elaborates the connotations of the modern discovery method. The researcher also analyses the current situations of junior classical Chinese teaching by the ways of literature, questionnaire, mathematical statistics, logic analysis, and so on. According to the characteristics of discovery method itself, the author analyses its feasibility of junior classical Chinese teaching in detail, then proposes the basic paradigm of discovery method by researching the theory and pratice of discovery method and analysing typical cases. Furthermore, the author renewed and remoulded lesson examples combining the existing problems.The study shows that in our country it is still at the primary stage that the discovery method is used for researching and practising teaching classical Chinese. Althrough only some pioneers tried the discovery method to teach classical Chinese in the curriculum reform, they have got some effects. The method was popular with many teachers and students. As long as teachers can utilize the discovery method flexibly, it will produce great effects on teaching classical Chinese.
