The Study On The Relationship Between Entrepreneurship And The Growth Of Industrial Clusters

Industry cluster is a worldwide economic phenomenon, which is widely distributed in both developed and developing countries and affects map of the world economy. Industrial cluster is internationally recognized as "the engine of growth" because of its great advantages, so it has attracted extensive attention and research. In the study of industrial clusters, we note that the phenomenon of entrepreneurship within the. industry clusters, including the entrepreneurs starting their own business and spin-offs. We find that within the industry clusters, either from the frequency, or from the probability of success, entrepreneurial activity is higher than those in other regions. Today most scholars agree that entrepreneurship and industrial clusters are both conducive to the development of a region, so much attention is paid to the two separately, but little paid on the intersection between the two. Due to this fact, this article attempts to explore the relation between clusters and entrepreneurial activity to seek the interaction between the two.In this paper, according to the needs of study, first of all, we redefine the two concepts through the; literature on the concept of entrepreneurship and industrial clusters. This paper argues that: entrepreneurship is that entrepreneurs establish new businesses in conditions of uncertainty and risks in the pursuit of profit and industrial cluster is a geographical concentration of enterprises which are widely related. These definitions are conducive to the conduct of following study.After defining the relevant concepts, this paper discusses the relationship between clusters and entrepreneurial activity. Through the study on life cycle of industrial cluster, from the perspective of entrepreneurship, we divide the growth in the evolution of the industry cluster into three stages:embryonic stage, growth stage and mature stage. Studies suggest that entrepreneurship promotes the growth of the industry cluster. The initial start is the starting point for the formation of industrial clusters and the innovation brought by the entrepreneurship is the growth momentum of industrial clusters. The initial start promotes the budding, and spin-offs bring a lot of enterprises, then other related business driven industry clusters into mature; Within the industrial cluster, entrepreneurial activities are significantly more active than other areas. Industrial cluster environment accelerate the occurrence of entrepreneurial activity.First of all industrial cluster environment provides a path to support entrepreneurship, followed by industrial cluster contains a wealth of business resources and entrepreneurial dynamism, which promotes the entrepreneurial activity. Entrepreneurship and industrial are mutual influence and mutual promotion.After the theoretical analysis, this paper conducts cases study aimed to verify the conclusions of theoretical analysis. Qingdao Jiaozhou Tower cluster and Wangtai Textile machinery cluster are selected. I once visited these two clusters following my instructor to understand their basic conditions and obtain much valuable first-hand information. In the case study, this paper describes the basic situation of the clusters and studies the relationship between the growth of the clusters and the entrepreneurship.This paper studies on a large number of documents and literature. It discusses with the methods of literature analysis, in-depth interviews, case-study analysis and so on. It aims to provide some reference and guidance to the relevant departments that formulate policies.
