In the new "five-year plan", the Chinese government has put a lot of weight on transforming the economic development pattern and restructuring the economy. Therefore, the development of Chinese industry must accelerate the transformation from scale growing to quality improvement. In view of the phone industry's typicality in "China Model", this paper choice phone industry as the object for research. The Phone Industry started at the Nineties in our country. Through the Ten-year development, it has grown to a certain degree but still can't cross the bridge of core-technology, which has become the biggest bottle neck of Chinese Phone Industry. For all these years, our homemade phone has no way but to depreciate for attracting consumers. The emergence of Shanzhai Phone in China has triggering off the degree of "Price War". In this situation, people-in every country of the world-start to question the future of Chinese Phone Industry.Differing from China, Korea-as one of the Late-comers just like China-has gone through a successful path in developing Phone Industry. From Chasing to Surpassing, it only took them not more than ten years. Nowadays, Korean Phone such as Samsung, LG are very famous in the world.Based on this background, this paper chooses Korean phone industry for comparison. From the design of path-goal to the conditions of path-realization, this paper has made a comparison of phone industries between Korea and China in detail and then find a lot of differences.Guided by the "developmentalism", our phone industry is pushed to the "quantity important, quality less" direction. On the contrary, Korean phone industry puts "technology" on the first place, and the enterprises gradually become the principal part of its "technical innovation mode". On the conditions of path-realization, this paper has compared the effects of government, enterprises and development strategy. Moreover, this paper has also compared the differences of the domestic and international market environment which the two countries face with. The result shows that the policies adopted by Chinese government exist shortcomings, the principal role of phone enterprises haven't played out and the development strategy are also too one-fold. In addition, our phone industry has to confront a much tougher market environment than Korea. That's why Chinese phone industry still can not fulfill technology breakout and give birth to "Shanzhai" phones.Through the comparison with Korean phone industry, this paper brings forward some countermeasures for our country. First, building a technical innovation mode in which enterprises play the leading role. This requires more preferential policies to phone industry. Also, we should strengthen cooperation among industries, universities and research institutes to help improve the technology level of enterprises. Second, treating "Shanzhai" phones with rational attitude. Certainly, the irregularities of "Shanzhai" phones should be punished, but, in the meantime, it is also necessary for us to pay attention to their positive sides. For example, the lateral layering of their industry chain and the "sub-core technology" strategy. Third, shaping brand image. Brand is the invisible competitiveness for every kind of product. As phones' technology continues to mature, the importance of the brand will be more and more outstanding. To build first-class brand, we could adjust "price strategy" and define the product position to begin with. Besides, Chinese phone industry need to improve its consciousness for brand. Only when we have produced our own "Samsung", "LG", can we board on the world stage!... |
