Supply Chain Theory Applied Research, In The Ukrainian Petrochemical Materials Management

Material management is important to medium-large sized industrial enterprises. Due to the long period of planned economy, the material management level of many enterprises is rather low and the management ideas are out of date. With China's entry into WTO, more and more companies will directly face international competition. Therefore, it is urgent to reform the old material management method so as to reduce stock and stock-occupied capital, minimize purchase cost, optimize material purchase and storage, then to increase profit from internal management and enhance competitive capability in market.Covering a wide range of businesses from oil exploration, oil processing, oil product sales to petrochemical product manufacturing and sales, petrochemical industry has the typical supply chain structure that is suitable for supply chain management. Moreover, most big international oil companies have adopted supply chain management and have yielded significant benefits. So it is of great practical value to study the application of supply chain management in China's petrochemical enterprises. Taking the Urumqi Petrochemical Company's material management as an example, this thesis discusses the material management reform of medium-large sized companies both in theory and in practice, and suggests some solutions to improve current material management.This thesis consists of five parts. Part one systematically elucidates the theories of supply chain and supply chain management to build theoretical foundation for the following parts. Part two analyzes the current supply chain management system of Urumqi Petrochemical Company and describes the overall functional structure of an up-to-date supply chain management system of UPC.
