In company with the increasing deterioration of competitive situation between retailenterprises at home and abroad caused by China's entrance to WTO, it becomes moreand more difficult to operate chain retail enterprises. The merchandise information isbecoming more and more transparent at buyer's market. Therefore, the competitionbetween enterprises is not the pure competition of the quality of goods and the sellingprice, but the competition of logistics operation mode.Logistics is the key to chain development. And it is the significant "bottleneck" torestrict the development of chain retail enterprises. Facing with the continuous expandingchain scale and the further opening of logistics market of the large-scale chain retailenterprises, the retail field is sure to experience a series of new split and realignment. Allkinds of resources are going to rearrange under the regulation of the market. There is noexception for logistics resources. Supported by advanced logistics operation mode, somesuperior enterprises will spring up and become the "magnate" in retail field. However,the enterprises with lagging logistics and in an inferior position in competition are goingto go bankrupt and be annexed. The competition between chain retail enterprises in 21stcentury is the competition of logistics strategy and logistics operation mode. Under thecircumstances that the third party's logistics is progressively permeating and graduallybecoming the director of enterprises' logistics supply chain, it has become a very urgentand realistic problem for the chain retail enterprises that what kind of logistics operationmode should be taken in order to improve their own key competitiveness.First, according to the modern theory of logistics management and the presentproblems of logistics management in Weifang Department Group, the article putsforward three kinds of logistics operation modes, i.e., the operation mode of seriallogistics supply chain, the operation mode of parallel logistics supply chain, and theoperation mode of integrated logistics supply chain. Among them, the operation mode ofserial logistics supply chain is a traditional one that takes "selforun logistics" and"direct-delivery logistics" as its main body; the operation mode of parallel logisticssupply chain is one that many kinds of logistics forms, such as the third party's logistics,"self-run logistics", "direct-delivery logistics", etc., coexist; the operation mode ofintegrated logistics supply chain is a modern one that takes the third party's logistics asits main body, and it is the inevitable choice of the chain retail enterprises after thematurity of the third party's logistics. Secondly, combining the present situation of logistics management in Weifang Department Group, the article proposes the enterprises'choice basis of logistics operation mode and "the operation mode of parallel supplychain" suitable for the Group's necessary development. Finally, from the standpoint ofthe implementation and control of the mode, the article puts forward the basic frame ofbusiness and resources integration, and logistics system construction in WeifangDepartment Group.
