Information Sharing In Supply Chain And Its Implementation

Along with the increasingly fierce competition of market, the globalization of economy, the fast development of information technology and the individuation of customer demand, enterprises have to dynamically enter into alliance with other business partners to integrate their own resource and core competence, make good use of the competition edge of supply chain and win at the increasingly fierce competition of market. The competition among enterprises also gradually turns into competition among various supply chain. And the mode of supply chain management emerges. Cooperation is one of the key ideas of supply chain management and cooperating effectively bases on high-level information sharing, so information sharing in supply chain attracts more attention.This thesis bases on the current research outcome and studies information sharing in supply chain from other angle. There are six chapters in this thesis. Chapter 1 and 6 is the introduction and conclusion of the thesis, and chapter 2,3,4 and 5 are the main body of this thesis. The main body can also be divided into two parts. The first (namely chapter 2) is the foundation of the whole thesis that expatiates the reason to study information sharing in supply chain. The second (namely chapter 3, 4 and 5) discusses in detail eight aspects that relate to information sharing in supply chain.Chapter 1 mainly introduces the background of this thesis, the actual state of information sharing in supply chain as well as the main framework and innovation of this thesis. Chapter 2 simply introduces the concept of supply chain and supply chain management as well as information flow in supply chain and the mode of information flow management, and points out that information sharing in supply chain is critical to successfully operate supply chain by analyzing the problem and challenge that enterprises meet when they perform supply chain. Chapter 3 mainly discusses the value of information sharing in supply chain, the importance of evaluating the value of information sharing in supply chain and measures of supply chain performance, as well as compares and analyses various models that evaluate the value of information sharing in supply chain and points out some aspects that need to research in depth. This point is one of the innovations of this thesis. Chapter 4 analyses in detail the content, process, mode, level and security of information sharing in supply chain and points out that core enterprise managed model that is a sort of information sharing model fits well into the small enterprises in our countries. Chapter 5 discusses that how to perform information sharing in supply chain by advanced information technology. There are many technologies that can be used to perform information sharing, but this chapter mainly introduces Web Services and builds an information sharing framework that bases on Web Services. This point is also one of the innovations of this thesis. Chapter 6 sums up the main idea and outcome of this thesis, as well as indicates several aspects that relate to information sharing in supply chain and need to be researched in depth.
