The competitive market status of railway industry was dropped at the beginning of eight decades, which restricted economy development of China. The monopoly industry of railway attains great achievement of lower costs and higher incomes. Attributing to the long-term integration of government administration with enterprise, many problems still need to be dealt with such as how to fasten the modern enterprise system construction, how to improve work efficiency, interests and market competence, how to reduce costs. Referred to a lot of literatures concerning domestic and overseas reforms, the writer went along the social practice, investigation, collection and settlement of data. The author brought out the choice of railway industry reforms in the future depending on the managing knowledge. The problems mentioned above were studied in present dissertation hereinafter.Firstly, the background and purpose of the study were put forward, the present situation and the value of study were set forth, and the contents, structure and theories & methods related were introduced.Secondly, by analyzing the reform background, measures and results in Sweden, Japan and America, the model countries with regard to railway reforms in the world, the writer points out that China can use their successful experiences for reference.Thirdly, based on some managerial economics theories, the writer testified the correctness of present Chinese railway mode reorganization.Fourthly, by analyzing the main problem resulting from the lack of economies of scale and adopting foreign successful experiences about railway reforms for reference, the choice of mode reorganization- "separation of network and transportation" is put forward.
