China is rapidly growing its express highway but most of the construction companies are lack of competitiveness, Hunan Huada Road & Bridge Construction CO Ltd. is no different. With governmental macroeconomic strategic adjustment and the shift of domestic express highway market focus, company must address immediate reaction; amend corporate development strategy and direction towards environmental change for keeping pace with the increasing and highly competitive highway construction market. The theoretical study has been focusing on analyzing the competitiveness in medium to large size companies, and formed a series of competition enhancing management thought leadership. Nevertheless, there are few studies paid attention to small firms' competitiveness. Nowadays there are numbers of small construction firms are facing difficulty and surviving from both internal and external pressure. The significance to strengthen it's competitiveness for small firmhas been highly surreal.This study is a paralleled application of competition strategy theory and core compositeness theory, analyzing the external environment and internal conditions of Hunan Huada Road & Bridge Construction CO Ltd. Based on the "Problem-Analysis-Solution" methodology and competition strategy theory, this research will analyze the changing external market structure and current internal conditions of Hunan Huada Road & Bridge Construction CO Ltd, then abstract a corporate competition strategy. Combine the formal study, real case study and competition strategy theory, the in-depth research of corporate internal competitiveness will conclude a competition enhancing solution and execution strategy such as growing project pitching capacity, continuously promoting "Wider-circle" strategy, creative project management, etc.
