The Time Value Of Information Sharing In Supply Chain Study

In the new era of internationalization and information, products have already become variety and its lifecycle have become shorter. Delivery time got more and more attention now. Supply chain faced the new challenge of time compression. The development of information technology has brought a great chance to organizations to readjust their strategy and cooperation. A precise measurement of the time value of information sharing in supply chain could support more effective decision to choose feasible information sharing mode. It could promote organizational relationships that foster the sharing of technological and resources. On the other hand, it could give some clue on how to share specific information to efficient supply chain delivery time compression.Firstly, this thesis analyzed the common information transferring process, and then gave the process of handling information flows in each junction of supply chain. By applying Markov Chain, the structure model of information flow in supply chain is put forward according to the cycle view of supply chain, and the calculation model of total cycle time of information flows in supply chain is presented. Secondly, the various calculation model of total cycle time of information flows is constructed according to various information sharing mode. From the point of view of time value, quantitative analysis provided more effective support to choose information sharing mode. Finally, a numerical example was given. Basing on the SZ medical instrument supply chain, the difference of time value of various information sharing mode was analyzed and precisely calculated.
