On The Green The Enhancement Of International Competitiveness Of China's Textile And Garment Industry

With the abolishment of the global textile and clothes trade quota, a global employment and wealth migration has been kicked off. China is the world's largest textile and clothes producer and exporter. For one thing, as the advent of the global textile and clothes trade's post-quota era, the development of the textile and clothes export will be even brighter; for another, China's textile and clothes products mainly export to the developed countries, which have higher environmental performance requirements. The large quantity of China's textile and clothes exportation will bring a strong hit to the developed countries' similar industry, and it easily incurred protectors' dissatisfaction. The development of China's textile and clothes industry confronts a serious challenge. Therefore, facing with the developed countries' reasonable green trade regulation and unreasonable green trade protectionism, it will be a major subject for China's textile and clothes industry how to advance their green international competition.At present, with the joint efforts of all countries in the world, international trade tend to be developing freely, but also green barriers have gradually evolved into an unignorable non-tariff trade barriers. It should be noted that although the green barriers has a negative effect on the development process of global trade liberalization and the developing countries economic development and it's export trading. It reflects the consumers' trend towards "green" products, and the possitive attitude of manufacturers and dealers towards the so-called "green wave". Therefore,, it is to be protected and encouraged in the WTO rules. In face of such trend, China's textile and clothes industry should take active measures to consolidate and enhance China's status as a huge global textile and clothes production and export country.This paper explains the textile and clothes industries green barriers on the whole firstly, and then analyses the impact of green barriers comprehensively. On base of the above exposition, and the author evaluates our country's textile and clothes industry by the green international competition estimated index system, analyses China's textile and clothes industry's status, and shows the importance to deal with the green barriers. The major part of this paper presents a totally discussion of the possibility and necessity for China textile and clothes industry to improve green international competition, its barriers and measures by the national competition advantage theory, which will be a great help for China textile and clothes industry to turn the nagetive satus and upgrade its green competition effectively.
