Into the era of knowledge-based economy, the company has more understanding about the key value of excellent employees. Especially after China's accession to the WTO, with the rapid development of foreign banks in China, the competition to attract talents between foreign banks and local banks has speed up and fiercer. They all want to have an effective way to recruit quality staff. However, many banks often suffer from a lack of guidance of the scientific selection when facing with lots of selection channels; it is difficult to make an effective recruitment, the successful completion of the recruitment strategy.Therefore, it really makes great sense for banking industry to welcome the new challenge in the coming new century, that measure the cost and the effectiveness of recruitment channels and use of limited resources to attract more outstanding persons, recruit suitable staff, improve revenue and efficiency of recruitment, reduce short-term turnover of the new recruits, to attract, select and retain human resources sufficiently.Firstly, this article has given brief introduction to the basic concept of recruiting and recruiting channels about modern human resource, including general theory and role about the recruiting and selection. Secondly, the business operation, the human resource status in ABC bank (China) is presented.This thesis is to analyze the recruiting costs, cost-effectiveness and 6-months attrition rate in terms of the different channels and the effectiveness of various recruitment channels by exploring the recruiting data from ABC bank (China) from January 2007 to December 2008. Upon analysis, it is helpful to find how do the foreign banks attract, select and train the local talents through effective recruiting channels under bank's development strategy.
