Evaluation Of Weifang Diesel Engine Company Limited Core Competitiveness

The core competence of enterprises is a kind of competitive power, which is formed on the basis of the knowledge and skills and adapts to the organizational structure of enterprises and the external environment. It is not a simple case of a dispersion of skills or knowledge, but an enterprise in its production and operation activities of the value chain forms the ability that adapts to changes in the market and rivals don't imitate easily. The functions of the core competence are as follows: First, improving the competitive advantage in the market; Second, optimizing the allocation of resources of the enterprises and society; Third, being the long-term source of competitive advantage. So evaluating the core competence has an important guiding significance on the development of Chinese enterprises.This paper firstly describes the relevant theory of the enterprises' core competence. Secondly, it analyzes the main measures of how WeiChai Power Limited Company (WeiChai Power) to enhance the core competence in the operation and development. Based on them, it comes up with evaluating the index system of WeiChai Power's core competence. The index system explores the core competence from six aspects: technical ability, management capacity, financial status factor, human resource factor, marketing and values system, which embodies the comprehensive, systematic, and scientific principles. Thirdly, this paper also establishes the core competence methematical model with application and evaluation methods, and empirically analyses the core competence of WeiChai Power to verify the rationality and feasibility of WeiChai Power's core competence evaluation system. Finally, it puts forward some proposals to upgrade the core competence aiming at the study of the evaluation. This paper hopes to have a guiding and useful effect on the enterprises in the market economy to assess and enhance core competence.
