Objective:Cerebrovascular disease (CVD) was one of the top three diseases jeopardizing people' health, which was high in morbidity, case fatality and mutilation rates. Cerebral infarction was the main type of CVD. With the proceeding of aging in our society, the morbidity and case fatality of cerebral infarction will elevate further. Accordingly, to investigate measures of prevention and cure cerebral infarction is of important clinical significance. As previous researches introduced, functions of blood fibrinolytic and c0agulative system played the key role in the mechanism of sichemic apoplexy. To treat cerebral apoplexy by acupuncture has a long history, which was profuse in experience, and valuable in clinical application. In our research, we induced rats cerebral apoplexy model by ligating cerebral vessal, and treated with electro-acupuncture at acupoint of Baihui(DU 20) and Shuigou(DU 26), to observe its effect on blood fibrinolytic and coagulatiye system, in hope to investigate the action of acupuncture in the system and provide theoretical evidence for clinical practice.Methods:40 SD rats were selected. Each rat's body weight was from 180g to 230g, They were randomly divided into four groups, each group with 10 rats: normal group, sham operation group, model group and model EA group. There are 10 in each group. Normal group ratswere not provided treatment. Model group Were made focal cerebral ischemia model with middle cerebral artery occlusion using a thread block technique. Model EA group was treated by EA on Baihui(DU 20) and Shuigou(DU 26) with continuous wave of 100 vices per minute frequency after the rats woke hp. The treatment continued for five days, one vice for 30minutes per day. Then, we marked of the neurologic impairment in the rats arid detected the contents of tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA), plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1), D-Dimer and Fibrinogen (Fib) in blood plasm.Results:1. Embolism of middle cerebral artery may obviously damage normal animal behavior and activity; After electro-acupuncture, rats neurologic impairment signs were significantly improved (P<0.01).2. Compared with sham operated group and normal group, the contents of t-PA, PAI-1 in blood plasm of rats in model group increased greatly(P<0.01). This result implyed that the contents of t-PA,PAI-1 inblood plasm of rats had abnormality variation after ACI. Compared with model group, the contents of t-PA,PAI-1 in blood plasm of rats in model EA group decreased greatly (P<0.05~0.01).3. Compared with sham operated group and normal group, the contents of D-dimer,Fib in blood plasm of rats in model group increased greatly(P<0.01). This result implyed that the contents of D-dimer,Fib in blood plasm of rats had abnormality variation after ACI. Compared with model group, the contents of t-PA,PAI-1 in blood plasm of rats in model EA group decreased greatly (P<0.01).Conclusion:1. Electro-acupuncture could significantly improve neurologic impairment signs of acute cerebral infarcted rats.2. Electro-acupuncture could lower abnormally-increased plasma t-PA,PAI-1 amount, advance activity of rats blood fibrinolytic system, protect integrality of vascular endothelial cell, promote thromb elimination, relieve chronic angiospasm, improve collateral circulation, enhance recovery of ischemic and semidarkness region, consequently protect the brain tissue from injury.3. Electro-acupuncture could lower abnormally-increased plasma D-dimer and Fib content in cerebral infarcted rats, efficiently accommodate blood clotting and fibrinolytic systems, decrease blood wiscidity, inhibit platelet aggregation and coagulum formation, and improve blood circulation of brain.
