Cultural consumption now has become a very important part of national economic and people's life. But theories on cultural consumption are not systematic. Just under such a realistic background and theory background, this thesis launches the omni-directional exploration of the cultural consumption. The aim of the thesis is trying to sort out the past research achievements on cultural consumption and on this basis putting forward the views.This paper is divided into four sections. The first section gives the universal analysis of cultural consumption from four aspects of definitions, classifications, characteristics and functions. In this part, by comparing cultural consumption with material consumption, the writer introduces the subject, object, course and environment of cultural consumption, which shows the specialties of cultural consumption. The second part summarizes the functions and the developing trends of the cultural consumption. Section three the industrial effect of the cultural consumption, it is both the focal point and the creative idea in the paper. Cultural consumption has close relations to cultural industry and it can cause multiple industrial effects. Part four cultivation and guide of cultural consumption, according to the present situation of cultural consumption in our country, offer help in terms of policy and advices.By overall and profound analysis to cultural consumption, this thesis draws the following achievements:Cultural consumption is a behavior that obtains the soul of spirit with material or service carrier. By comparing with material consumption, cultural consumption has a lot of characteristics. To cultural consumer, it needs higher expectations such as basic cognitive ability, certain scientific cultural knowledge and distinguishable ability to appreciate. To cultural goods, there are many specialties of invisibility, sharing, durability, spreading, equality, extension, appreciation, innate intellectual property right and uncertain magnitude of value. To the course Cultural consumption incorporates consuming and producing into an organic whole. It also incorporates consuming and investing into a whole. To the environment, cultural consumption is influence by the degree of material consumption, the education level of people, the policies and laws of government and the cultural atmosphere of family, etc.Cultural consumption has economic function, political function, social functionand developing function. The developing trends of cultural consumption: from material consumption as the leading factor to the cultural consumption as the leading factor, from low-grade cultural consumption to advanced cultural consumption, from narrowly-defined cultural consumption to broadly-defined cultural consumption, from one country's cultural consumption to global cultural consumption.Cultural consumption and cultural industry maintain close ties. The industrial effects of cultural consumption includes industry transmit effect, industry innovative effect, industry chain effect, industry investing effect. Cultural consumption is closely related to culture productivity. Cultural consumption is an important way to make cultural into productivity by improving the laborers' quality.According to the above research results, this thesis draws the conclusions: Cultural consumption is a kind of more high-level consumption, which satisfies enjoyable and developing needs of people. The enlargement of the proportion of cultural consumption stands for the improvement of life quality and the upgrade of consumption structure. Cultural consumption plays a leading role to cultural industry, and has multiple industrial effects. Developing cultural consumption is an effective way to expand domestic demand as well as an inevitable demand for developing cultural productivity.
