On The Early Ba Culture

Ba People was a great nation in the area of Three Gorges. In the Previous Qin Period, they had established a strong country that included a part of Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Guizhou and Shanxi, they created a fantastic culture—Ba Culture. The area where was Ba Culture spread mainly passage that Three Gorges communicated and culture promulgated. The archaeological research of Ba Culture has an important effect for realizing the appearance of archaeological culture of Three Gorges in the Previous Qin Period. At the same time, the research is an important content for exploring of the origin of Chinese Civilization and building of the archaeological system of China. This paper discuss the aspects of this problem, the origin and appearance of Early Ba Culture.This paper deals mainly with the origin of Ba culture and the archaeological appearance of Early Ba Culture. At first, this paper reviews the historical process that sholars have researched and realized Ba-Shu Culture, Ba Culture and Early Ba Culture in the past more than seventy years. Second, this paper discuss the historical and natural environment of evolving Ba Culture and try to seek the origin of Ba Culture from the Culture of Neolithic Age. Third, through using the methods of analysis of culture factor, typological analysis of typical implements, this paper elaborates the connotation. Forth, there is an investigation for settlements of Ba People. At last, this paper analysis the relationship between Early Ba Culture and the peripheral cultures, then discuss the problem of researching Early Ba Culture and the orientation of the research in the future.
