Legal Regulation Of Genetically Modified Food Safety In China

As a new technology, genetically modified food is controversial.When science has not be sure of its safety,genetically modified food has came to our life.Genetically modified food is developing more and more quickly in our country.In the early before we have started to pay attention to biotechnology and have achieved remarkable results.On the one hand genetically modified food has great economic benefit,on the other hand it is dangerous.Facing this situation,we should use the law to regulate it.But our country’s legislation in this field is not perfect,the legislation could not regulate the producers of genetically modified food.So it is necessary to use the law to regulate genetically modified food.Firstly,this paper analyses the development status of the genetically modified food and proposes that it is necessary to regulate it.Secondly,this paper summarizes the relevant legislation and points out the disadvantages.Finally this paper analysis the foreign countries’ related legislation and puts forward the relevant suggestions to our country’s genetically modified food safety legislation system.This paper is divided into four parts:The first part,this chapter mainly introduces the basic problems of genetically modified food.In this part, this paper defines the concept of it and classifies it. Finally this paper analysis its current development in our country and points out it is necessary to use the law to regulate it.The second part,this chapter mainly analyzes the legislation system and administration system in this field and points out the disadvantages of this system.The third part,this chapter analysis the relevant legislation in foreign countries,for example, America and Japan.And it summarizes the place we need to learn.The fourth part, according to comparing the domestic and foreign related legislation,this paper puts forward suggestions for our country’s genetically modified food safety legal system.
